Eight electric busses reduce the yearly CO2-output by 520 tonnes

In Cologne, a new kind of quiet and low-emission electric busses drive on the line 133 since a year approximately. The project has been started ten month ago and after this trial period, the Cologne transport services have decided to change for electric busses on another six lines until 2021. However, the performance must still be improved as the busses can only do 45 km before being recharged. Still, the CO2 balance convinces the users as electric busses produce only 26 grams of CO2 per passenger and kilometre against 117 grams per passenger and kilometre for a small vehicle that uses only 5,9 litres of gasoline on 100 km.
