French consumer habits adapt to environmental regulations

French car drivers adapt to new environmental regulations as they buy more ecological vehicles. La voix du Nord, a French magazine, quotes car salesmen who report that the French bought 50% diesel and 50% petrol engines during the first semester of 2017. Last year, diesel cars still lead the market with around 60% of sold cars but nowadays many consumers wonder if they have to return their diesel vehicles because of the environmental regulations. However, French car drivers still trust in “classic” engines. Sales of Electric and Hybrid cars rise constantly but absolute numbers stay relatively low. Combustion engines can’t set their foot print on the market yet as consumers still distrust.
