The number of e-buses in cities is still too low

E-buses could be a good solution in the fight against air pollution in European cities. However, the number of e-buses in Europe remains too low. Out of the 78.345 buses registered in Germany, only 458 are totally or partially powered by electricity. There is not enough political pressure, and the buses are too expensive, not reliable enough and too unsecure. “From a business perspective it’s not yet worth the effort,” according to Tobias Kothy, spokesperson for the Federal Association of German Bus Enterprises.
