For diesel, against the future

In Germany, a new law now bypasses EU pollution limit values. The law says that traffic restrictions on diesel vehicles due to air pollution would only be justified from 50 µg/m³ of nitrogen dioxides in the air. It also specifies that EURO 6 cars must never be affected by the bans. In parallel, France is debating whether diesel vehicles will be able to receive a Crit'Air 1 sticker in the future. The real question remains: why do both countries spend so much time reversing decisions made years ago to protect the environment and human health rather than investing their forces in the development of new technologies and the adaptation of cities for a viable and liveable future?
