Berlin is taken to court for its air pollution

After losing its trial against the German association for the environment DUH last Friday, Stuttgart will have to implement measures to reduce its air pollution. The court allowed to implement a prohibition to Diesel vehicles in specific zones. Other towns might follow this example. Indeed, the DUH also took to court the German capital city in the early June. Several measures are being considered. Berlin plans for instance to limit certain zones to 30 km per hour in order to improve the air quality. Regine Günther, the Environmental and Traffic Senator, supports the introduction project of a national Blue Badge that will allow the access to the EURO 6 Diesel vehicles. A definitive prohibition of all Diesel vehicles might have negative impacts on the economy.
