Pollution-alert in the French Antilles

The French Antilles suffer since a few days from an important pollution phase through the presence of fine particles in the air. Those particles come from the traffic and from sand flying from the Sahara. This shows that despite the low traffic and the constant wind on islands, air pollution still remains an issue. Moreover, overseas territories must apply the same rules contained in the EU directives. In the future, the vignette Crit’Air could also be introduced on the French overseas territories.
