Environmental conference in Bonn for the implementation of the Paris agreements

Today, May 8, 2017, representatives of 196 countries are meeting in Bonn to discuss the implementation of the Paris climate agreements. Air pollution is one of the major topics of these agreements, for it contributes – through CO2 emissions – to global warming, droughts and sea level rises, and it also damages the health of the most vulnerable populations of the world through the emission of hazardous substances and fine dust particles. The major challenge of the meeting in Bonn will be to convince the new US government that they must act promptly.
