Diesel Vehicles banned from two Streets in Hamburg

The Senate of the city of Hamburg decided yesterday that vehicles which do not correspond to the norm EURO 6 will be banned from two streets of the city permanently.  This is the first city in Germany which introduces such a drastic measure against emissions of nitrogen oxide. The city of Stuttgart has already planned to introduce traffic restrictions for diesel vehicles, but only in case of a pollution peak. In Hamburg is this measure a part of a global anti air pollution scheme, which will come into effect after potential negotiations.
