Amsterdam aspires to be the first emission-free city of Europe in 2050

The city of Amsterdam has an ambitious urban environmental sustainability plan, the aim of which it is to become the first European emission-free city. One of the main measures of this plan concerns transport, both public and private. The use of electric buses, taxis and cars will be fostered, restricting gasoil and diesel vehicles. Entrance to the city center has already been prohibited since 2017 for cars registered before the year 2000.
