Fewer cars in Paris

The Mayor of Paris has adopted a policy aimed at reducing car use in the city by setting a timetable for phase out diesel. If we look at the underlying trend, we see that it is in line with previous decisions: since 2001, the car ownership rate has decreased from 60% to 37%. Traffic has also declined: -15.8% since 2014 and -6% in 2018. At the end of the day, this has an impact on air quality, which is improving.
