The uncertain future of the Blue Environmental Badge in Germany

The German minister for the environment, Barbara Hendricks, has announced this week that the introduction of the Blue Environmental Badge in Germany makes no sense. The problem is that modern diesel cars, which can only fulfil Euro Norm 6 at best, pollute the air 6 times more than what the data obtained from laboratory tests indicates. The minister has proposed that the affected vehicles be adapted to pollute less, with car manufacturers covering the costs.
