Paris makes an “Air-volution”

Over the past days, the mayor of Paris has presented her Plan for Air Quality for the city until 2020. In addition to the progressive exclusion of the Crit’Air vignettes 5 and 4 from traffic, the mayor Anne Hidalgo wants to replace the full fleet of the administration with electric and gas-powered vehicles, which would also affect garbage trucks and other service vehicles. Biking offers will also be expanded and a new measurement system for diesel vehicles will be introduced. The goal of this measure, which is called “Air-volution”, is to reduce emissions of toxic substances by 30%.
