Martinique

Today and yesterday, the air quality index proved high air pollution on the French island Martinique. This Monday during three hours, particulate matters stayed at 80 µg/m³ which launched the procedure of air pollution alarm. But, this concentration of particulate matters is not caused by route traffic or industry. Fogs of sand stay over the island since some days and have risen the part of particulate matters in the atmosphere. The alarm targets the vulnerable population, especially persons with cardiovascular and respiratory illnesses suffer from the dust.
