Pollutants Level 7 Times Higher than International Standards in Tehran

On Tuesday, 6th February, schools are going to remain closed because of the high levels of air pollution in the capital of Iran. While the World Health Organizations recommends a maximum of 25 µg/m³ of concentration of fine particles over 24h, the average concentration reached 173 µg/m³ on Monday and 231 µg/m³ in the east side of the city. According to Iranian medias, the road traffic is responsible for 80% of the air pollution.
